I keep writing about Tsushima. I still haven't organized things from a month and a half ago...
Actually, I started making a family tree a few years ago. I began by requesting family registers, but my main goal was always to visit the actual locations.
However, after that, due to the COVID-19 lockdown, I couldn't go out much, and I was finally able to resume last year.
One of the places I wanted to visit was Tsushima. And, of course, I had already checked that there was Tsushima Soy Sauce there.

"Where are you from?" - "Kawasaki."
"Kawasaki?" - "Yes, my grandmother was from Tsushima. And I found out that my wife's family also traces back to Tsushima."
The conversation flowed surprisingly well like this. The atmosphere was very cheerful.
While listening to stories about various eras due to supply issues typical of remote islands, and how they are now looking ahead and taking on new challenges, the children ate soy sauce pudding.
Apparently, due to Tsushima's geographical location, there's always been a sense of tension as a borderland, so serious fishing hasn't really flourished.
That's why chicken broth has been common since ancient times, rather than seafood. They said that using flying fish (ago) is a recent development.
(Looking back, there are some things I need to delve into and organize more deeply.)
There was also a broth-making kit that you make by pouring soy sauce into it, or so I thought, but the basket was empty.

Right after I was told they were sold out, my daughter said, "It's right here!"
They were just preparing the next batch, and a few were placed next to the register.
For some reason, as a reward, I was given a bottle of "Marugoto Tsushima Dashi Shoyu no Moto" (Tsushima Broth Soy Sauce Base) for free. Thank you!

Many old houses were scattered throughout Tsushima, and this place also had a charming old-world atmosphere.
I was so satisfied that I ended up staying a long time. Thank you for your hospitality.
Tsushima is known for its prosperous conger eel farming, and you can enjoy conger eel sashimi.
While grilled with sauce is also good, Tsushima Soy Sauce also pairs perfectly with this delicate flavor.
