I first tried boiled peanuts when I was in college.
They were served at a restaurant I went to with an upperclassman from my club, and honestly, I didn't think they were very good.
But as time goes on, things change, and now I quite like them.
Only freshly harvested peanuts can be boiled and eaten soft, so it's also a sign of their freshness.
(Although I let them sit for a bit, so they were a little hard...)
