Bumper crop

Five years ago, when I took an organic farming course, the organizers put in quite a bit of effort.

The crops grew well and yielded a good harvest, and I thought that was just how it was.

Later, when I started renting a field nearby, I tried to do the same, but I just couldn't keep up.

I harvested spring/summer crops and immediately planted or sowed autumn/winter crops, leaving no room to breathe.

This year, I finally gave in and cut corners. After the summer crops, I left the beds to solarize (left them alone) for a while, and once I felt I had more time, I added organic basal fertilizer.

I also reduced the number of crops, so I didn't have to bother with thinning.

Perhaps thanks to that, they are growing exceptionally well.

It's as if my feelings are reflected in the vegetables.

I really feel that desk work should be the same way.
